The complement system is a group of proteins that move freely through your bloodstream. The proteins work with your immune system and play a role in the development of inflammation.
You may have this test if your healthcare provider suspects you have an autoimmune disorder. If you have already been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, you may have this test to monitor its progress.
