albumin/creatinine ratio (ACR) is used to screen people with chronic conditions, such asdiabetes and high blood pressure (hypertension) that put them at an increased risk of developing kidney disease.
Your healthcare provider may request albumin/creatinine ratio (ACR) test when diabetes is first diagnosed. It is then usually measured annually or more frequently if significantly raised ACR values are found.
To interpret test results use the reference range in the laboratory report.
