Test Information
Overview

A drug allergy is a reaction by your immune system to a medicine you have taken. If you are allergic to a medicine, even a small amount can trigger a reaction. The reaction can range from mild to life-threatening.

Your health care provider may order drug allergy test for checking antibodies called Immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies. The body’s immune system makes antibodies called Immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies. These IgE antibodies react with substances and cause allergy symptoms.

To interpret test results use the reference range in the laboratory report.
